Thinking Fitness

“Resilience is a mindset.” (A mindset is the set of assumptions and expectations that we hold about ourselves and others that guide our actions.)

“Resilient individuals use practical wisdom and are psychologically flexible, recognizing changing situational demands and adapting accordingly.”

“Resilient individuals rework their ‘trauma stories’ into ‘healing stories’ and integrate them into their autobiographical memories and place them alongside other life experiences.”

Thinking fitness is the ability to be psychologically flexible and mentally agile, to notice and avoid ‘Thinking Traps’, to be an effective problem-solver, optimistic, and produce a “healing story” that contributes to one’s resilience.
